Concrete Densifiers & Sealers
Concrete densifiers are quickly becoming the sealer of choice for garage, commercial and industrial floors. They permanently densify concrete, adding abrasion resistance and reducing the ability of water to travel. They can also add a water repellent and stain guard or be used in a grind and polish application
Acrylic Sealers can be used over bare concrete or concrete that has been stained. Acrylic sealers add a varying level of gloss. These sealers also add a water repellant and are often used as the last step in a concrete stain system. Acrylic sealers do require some floor prep. Multiple types available.
This is probably the original garage flooring product. Coatings such as paints and epoxy have been used for years. Today, new technology has greatly improved the installation and performance of garage floor coatings, but epoxy can still be a difficult job for the Do-It-Yourself homeowner or inexperienced contractor.
If It Seems Too Easy, It Probably Is
The huge growth in the garage flooring industry has left the door open for every major coatings manufacturer to come out with a competitive product. Some of them work great while others do not work at all! As a rule of thumb, most of the “Out of the Box” coatings that advertise easy installation (some even with a lifetime warranty) simply don’t provide the appearance or performance that our customers are looking for. A good coating requires a professional-grade epoxy or synthetic material.
When you are reviewing coatings, make sure you have a look at the Mil thickness. A Mil is only 1/1000th of an inch!
