We have said it before, but it is worth repeating. Every garage is different and ideas that sound great for my garage floor might not work for your garage. A great example of this is a customer who contacted us this morning. He wanted to do an epoxy coating because his golf cart had stained his concrete. I asked him the same three questions I ask almost every customer:
- Other than parking your car, how do you use your garage?
- What part of the country are you in?
- What do you want your flooring to accomplish?
As the conversation continued it was clear that his idea of what a garage floor epoxy could do and my thoughts on the matter were completely different. He lived on a barrier island and wanted a coating that would perform for a long time to come and did not necessarily want to do the work it would take to get there.
As we continued the discussion we were able to convince the customer that perhaps he needed to look at some other options. We looked at garage floor mats, garage floor tiles and PVC garage tiles and ultimately found that PVC garage tiles were the best fit for his circumstance.
The bottom line is this. your neighbors idea of what is a good garage flooring product might not work for your garage. Ironically, it might also work great for you and not at all for him –depending on how much research he did. Take your time and figure out what works best for you. Work with a company that is willing to help you find a solution, not just make a sale!
