DIY: Keep P Traps Filled With Water

DIY: Keep P Traps Filled With Water

Empty Traps Can Lead to Bad Odors and Might Cause False Alerts for Gas Leaks

If you have a floor drain in your garage or warehouse, an unused sink, toilet, or washer dryer hookup this DIY tip is for you. Drains have a ‘trap’ that when filled with water keep unwanted smells from coming into your home, garage or warehouse.

When these drains go unused the trap dries up and the gases come in. They can even mimic the smell of natural gas. It is very important to add some water on a regular basis.
