Pretty & Tough Metallic Floors
The trick with a metallic garage floor coating is to be able to make it both pretty and ultra tough. Metallic systems require a good top coat to protect them from damage. We have gone a step above. We have included our ultra high wear, ultra high gloss top coat that will bring out the colors of your metallic floor while protecting it from the abuse it will take.
Stunning Floors That Last
The beautiful world of metallic epoxy flooring systems. If you are looking for a high-end floor for your garage, commercial, institutional or industrial location that is stunning, one of a kind and provides a 3D ‘marble look’ than look no further than our metallic epoxy coatings. We have taken the top of the line high-end product and made it available to DIY consumers and contractors alike.
Use a single color or intermix various colors to create the floor of your dreams at a price that won’t cause nightmares. Each system consists of a primer, 100% solids clear epoxy binder, metallic pigments and a top coat.
It is important to understand that while metallic epoxy systems are beautiful, the surface must be properly prepared and each stage of the application must be done precisely according to the instructions. Each and every floor will be different. It is very important to make sure no dust is on the floor or the roller. The pigment will be mixed into the clear resin and poured on to the floor in ribbons , then spread with a combination of a roller and squeegee. Once installed, apply one layer of top coat and allow to dry for a full week before using the floor.
Kits and individual items may be combined to customize your floor. Many of our customers will add additional colors. Some will do a second coat of primer to smooth out the floor below and help the resins flow better. Most will use the kits just as we sell them
One of the most common questions we have is recoat times. Our suggestions are as follows — based on 70 degree temperature:
- Prime the floor (TL015): THEN Wait 7-10 Hours but Never more than 24 Hours.
- Epoxy Coat (TL707HS): THEN Wait 8-12 HOurs but never more than 24 hours
- Top Coat (TL356): Then Wait 9-13 hours before any additional coats. 24 hours for very light foot traffic and 7 days for full use.
Chemical Resistance Testing
The following chemical resistance chart is based on TL356 topcoated floors. If you do not use a topcoat or if you use a different top coat, the results will vary substantially.
