Using Metal Blast to Prepare a Garage Floor

Using Metal Blast to Prepare a Garage Floor for Rust Bullet

Metal Blast for Concrete PrepGenerally speaking, Rust Bullet does not require the use of harsh chemicals, acids or grinders to prepare the garage floor. Sometimes customers have a floor that needs spot treatment for oil stains, or in some cases the whole floor needs extensive cleaning.

We recommend Metal Blast. Metal Blast is called Metal Blast because it was originally formulated for dealing with oils, grease and other issues on metal surfaces to be coated. It is just as effective on concrete. Metal Blast is an outstanding surface conditioner and cleaner.

Typical coverage is 150 – 200 Sq. Ft. per gallon. It can be sprayed or brushed on. Allow it to sit for a minimum of 20 minutes, than rinse off with water.  It is important to allow the concrete to completely dry before proceeding with coating it. It is also important to understand that areas treated with Metal Blast may  become more porous and require more material than a smooth floor.

Like all chemicals, Metal Blast requires appropriate safety precautions. Please read the label on the container for details.

Lastly, the disposal of oil and other contaminates, regardless of if that is through acid etching or other methods, may require special attention to the method of disposal. Please follow all local, state and federal laws when it come to disposing of oils, chemicals, etc.
